New Excavators From Volvo
Volvo has rolled out the EC350E for general earthmoving applications and the EC480E for quarry and mass excavation applications. Both excavators are powered by the Volvo D13 Tier 4 Final/Stage IV Compliant engine that provides reduced emissions and improved fuel efficiency.
With lower fuel consumption and simple maintenance requirements, the company says, operating costs are reduced. Both machines feature the Volvo ECO mode that contributes to operating efficiency without any loss of performance in most operating conditions. An integrated work mode system offers the operator a choice of four work modes according to the task at hand — I (Idle), F (Fine), G (General) or H (Heavy) — for optimum efficiency and machine performance. When the controls have been inactive for a pre-set amount of time, the excavator can be programmed to automatically reduce engine speed or even shut down to further reduce fuel consumption and noise. Operators can keep track of both current and average fuel consumption via a simple gauge in the cab.
