New Short-Swing Excavators from Volvo
The new E-series short swing crawler excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment deliver better visibility when operating in confined spaces and greater fuel efficiency without compromising on power and performance. The ECR145E and ECR235E, 119 hp and 172 hp, respectively, are Tier 4 Final engines that provide up to 10 percent fuel economy improvements.
Both machines offer integrated working modes, which allow the operator to choose the best work mode for the application — I (Idle), F (Fine), G (General) or H (Heavy), and are equipped with auto idle and engine shutdown features. These excavators have been built to tackle a range of applications with a durable undercarriage to ensure tractive force when climbing and when traveling over both rough and soft terrain.
“The center-positioned boom and compact swing radius of these machines make them ideal for tackling jobs in confined urban areas that still require a great deal of stability, power and digging depth,” said Matt McLean, Product Manager – Excavators, at Volvo Construction Equipment. Volvo offeris a lifetime warranty on the boom, arm and frame.
The newly designed Volvo cab is equipped with a rollover protection structure (ROPS) and features a spacious cab with large front and side windows, a wider entrance, improved climate control, a keypad that allows operators to navigate through different settings on the 8-inch LCD monitor and activate machine functions in a safe and comfortable way.
The ECR145E and ECR235E have been designed to provide the lowest total cost of ownership, with enhanced hydraulics, improved ECO mode and convenient service access .
An optimized hydraulics system is combined with the fully electronic control system to improve controllability and response time. This system works in harmony with the exclusive Volvo ECO mode, which optimizes the hydraulic system to reduce flow and pressure losses resulting in lower fuel consumption.
CareTrack is the Volvo Construction Equipment telematics system which gives operators access to a wide range of machine monitoring information designed to save time and money.
These excavators are compatible with a range of attachments to increase versatility. The machines can be equipped with general purpose or heavy-duty buckets, each perfectly matched for digging and re-handling in all conditions. They provide maximum productivity, long life and feature original Volvo wear components. Volvo also offers a full range of quick couplers, including its proprietary S-type and universal couplers that maximize breakout force and perfectly match Volvo attachments.
