Makita Expands 18V Lithium-Ion Line
Makita has expanded its 18V lithium-ion cordless tool platform with the 18V Compact Lithium-Ion 2.0 amp-hour (Ah) battery (BL1820) and the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 4.0 Ah battery (BL1840). The two new batteries are engineered for more run-time and faster charging. The company says it now offers more than 80 cordless solutions with its 18V lithium-ion batteries.
The 4.0 Ah battery offers up to 35% more run time that the 3.0 Ah battery, reach a full charge in 40 minutes and is compatible with cordless tools that carry the star symbol. It will be available in kits in August and as an accessory in September. The 2.0 Ah battery is available now and offers up to 50% more run time than the company's 1.5 Ah battery, charges in 25 minutes and is also compatible with cordless tools carrying the star symbol.
