Visibility
With the cross-mounted engine and by moving the water tank to the rear of the machine, the units have excellent visibility over the drums. The seat slides 8.3 inches, and in combination with the engine hood design, it gives the operator the best visibility on the market, Dynapac sources report. The ROPS-mounted LED working lights provide excellent visibility during paving.
Performance
A mechanical adjustable off-set function is available on this new generation small asphalt rollers. By adjusting the rear frame to off-set to the left of the front drum up to 2 inches, it is easier to compact close to walls and curbs without risk of machine damage. The tapered drum edges result in a smooth surface without marks. The increased drum diameter ensures the asphalt is not shoveling in front of the drum, creating transversal cracks.
All rollers include efficient eccentrics guaranteeing optimum performance in the vibration start-up process. The machine features high-frequency compaction with the possibility to choose between dual frequencies depending on conditions and applications. A front right-mounted edge presser/edge cutter and a rear-mounted chip spreader are available as options. The edge cutter and chip spreader are maneuvered with buttons in the forward/reverse lever. The units are also available in a combi-version with four static rear rubber wheels.
Reliable water system
The water system is one of the most important systems on an asphalt roller, and the pressurized sprinkler system facilitates a smooth and reliable compaction with maximum uptime. The rollers are equipped with a sprinkler system and easily accessible sprinkler pump and filter and sprinkler bars that include three sprinkler nozzles on each drum. Automatic Water Control (AWC) is standard on all machines and a three-stage filtration system ensures clean water and prevents clogged sprinkler nozzles. The sprinkler timer adjusts sprinkler intervals, which reduces downtime for tank-refilling. The water tank’s volume is up to 54 gallons.
Operator efficiency and comfort
Designing the new generation with the operator in mind has resulted in a comfortable and modern operator´s environment. The spacious and vibration-dampened operator platform provides operator comfort even during long working days. A new comfort seat is available with weight adjustment, armrests and optional seat heating. The forward and reverse lever follows the sliding seat for even better ergonomics and control. An optional dual forward and reverse lever further improves ergonomics and control over the compaction process. The new instrument panel with keypad buttons and a display offers even greater roller control. A storage box under the seat as well as a cup/can holder on the operator platform offers operator comfort and convenience. An optional foldable canopy can protect the operator from the weather.
Easy transportation
The units’ casted fork design offers flexible lifting/tie down/towing possibilities; an optional central lifting point can make transportation between job sites easier and the ROPS fold easily for transport. The total machine length including the ROPS is 94.5 inches, which means the machines can be cross-loaded on a truck, so twice as many rollers can fit on a truck.
Safety
Interlock protection is standard on all machines to prevent accidental starting. Fail-safe brakes automatically engage if needed. The separate parking brake switch on the instrument panel helps preventing accidental activation. The lower operator platform makes it easy to enter the machine and an ergonomic footstep and sturdy handgrips makes the machine safe to enter.
Tier4-Final ready and Stage V-prepared engines
The units offer the latest in emission reduction technology to emission regulations worldwide. The units are powered by durable, fuel-efficient Kubota diesel engines that offer excellent performance with maximum uptime. For the North American markets, the units are equipped with a 37.5 horsepower Tier 4-Final Kubota engine with a DPF after-treatment system. Alternatively, a 25-horsepower unit is available that meets Tier 4-Final emission regulations without the cost and complexity of an after-treatment system.
Great serviceability
The design of the machines contributes to great serviceability. Daily service points are easy access under the engine hood that opens wide. The cross-mounted offers optimal serviceability and the major daily service points are all located on the right side. All hydraulic hoses are easy accessible and it is easy to reach sprinkler nozzles, water-pump and filter.
