New Holland skid-steer loader

Vertical-lift skid-steer loaders
New Holland’s L218 and L220 vertical lift skid steer loaders have 1,800 and 2,000 pounds rated operating capacity and bucket breakout forces of up to 5,550 and 7,300 pounds, respectively.  Overall efficiency is improved with the patented New Holland Super Boom vertical lift linkage, which delivers maximum reach at maximum height, allowing workers to precisely place loads in the center of trucks. The L218 and L220 feature a smooth, stable ride because of a longer wheelbase, low center of gravity and precise front-to-rear weight distribution. Self-leveling and ride control are optional. The wide cab is designed for optimal visibility and comfort and an industry-leading lower door threshold improves sightlines to the bucket cutting edge and to the trench, and the see-through roof provides a clear view of the bucket at full height. Rear visibility is increased with a large window and low engine hood with no rear frame towers. They are also easy to service with a swing-out rear door and hood for easy access to engine oil, fuel, hydraulic oil, coolant and radiator points all without tools.

D Series models
Caterpillar offers D Series skid steer loaders that feature a completely redesigned cab with a new lift arm design for improved sight lines and increased engine performance. The six skid steer loader models range in rated operating capacity from 1,800 to 3,700 pounds. The 236D and 242D are mid-size frame models and can be as narrow as 60 inches. The 236D now has a smaller platform size so it is a power-dense radial-lift-path model with 1,800-pound operating capacity and 123-inch hinge-pin height. The new large-frame 246D and 262D offer rated operating capacities of 2,150 and 2,700 pounds respectively. The largest 272D and 272D XHP are powered by a Cat C3.8 3.8-liter engine that produces 98 gross horsepower for the 272D and 110 net horsepower for the 272D XHP.

Case SV340 skid steer loader

Heavy-duty skid-steer loader
Case Construction Equipment introduces the SV340 skid steer, the company’s most powerful skid steer ever built, sources report. Rated at 3,400 pounds operating capacity and a bucket breakout force of 9,531 pounds, the vertical-lift skid steer provides extra power and performance, along with a stronger lift arm, H-link and upper chassis. It offers optional high-flow (38.7 gpm at 3,450 psi) and enhanced high-flow (35 gpm at 4,000 psi) auxiliary hydraulics for power and attachment versatility. Its heavy-duty 14 x 17.5 tires and additional counterweights make the SV340 the ideal operating platform for advanced attachments such as cold planers, tree spades and stump grinders. The skid steer can power more than 250 attachments, including the new Case sectional snow pushes, buckets, forks, brooms, rakes and more. The 90-horsepower FPT engine with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology eliminates the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF), and the associated downtime of other systems that require regeneration. The EZ-EH electro-hydraulic controls offer nine adjustable speed and control sensitivity settings that allows the operator to quickly switch between personalized settings for speed and control and to tailor machine performance to the application. The SV340 offers one of the widest cabs in the industry and the lowest entry threshold for easy access and greater bucket/attachment visibility. Routine service points are all located at the rear of the machine.

Battery-powered skid-steer loaders
Triple E Equipment offers two mini skid steers that are completely battery powered that help companies cut operating costs, improve worker safety and help the environment. The compact Sherpa 100EHD is only 30 inches wide so it can get into tight and narrow spaces and be used almost anywhere. When safety is a concern, it can also be operated by remote control. It utilizes a microprocessor that works according to the programmable logic controller (PLC) principle, allowing users to get the most operating hours out of every recharge. The Sherpa 100 ECO is ideal for indoor demolition work. It doesn’t produce any exhaust fumes and is extremely quiet. While it’s less than 30 inches wide, its 2-horsepower front-mounted motor is quite powerful. With its 360-amp battery pack, it can run for up to eight hours between charges. Numerous attachments are available, including a grapple bucket, hydraulic hammer, vacuum system, pallet forks, auger and more.

Volvo skid steer loader

Revamped skid-steer loaders
The Volvo D Series MC110D, MC115D and MC135D skid-steer loaders offer more strength, greater capacities, improved safety and operator comfort. They have been revamped with a stronger boom design that provides up to 11 percent higher lifting capacities than past models. The cabs offer 30 percent more room and up to 60 percent greater visibility. The MC110D has a rated operating capacity (ROC) of 2,500 pounds and the MC115D has a ROC of 2,700 pounds. A fully enclosed attachment bracket eliminates the need for greasing and has a replaceable, reversible wear plate. The new visual indicator lets the operator know when the attachment is locked. The ROPS/FOPS cab offers more than 30 percent more room than standard skid-steer loaders. The wider side-entry door and new handrails allow operators to enter more safely without stepping over an attachment and require less effort to close the cab door thanks to a new cab air vent. With the curved single loader arm, large top window and narrow ROPS cab pillars, operators benefit from 270 degrees of visibility, which is up to 60 percent more than conventional models featuring the two-arm design. The forward-tilting cab makes maintenance easier. All maintenance points are arranged in a simple layout that can also be accessed using the large rear door.

Vibratory roller attachments
MBW Inc.’s skid-steer vibratory roller attachments are one of the most innovative and cost-effective rollers on the market. The ATS smooth-drum and ATP padded-drum models are available in 73- and 84-inch working widths. All models feature hydraulically powered exciter systems lubricated by an oil mist design. They also feature a patented exciter shaft design that minimizes exciter shaft deflection, lower operating temperatures and provide the industry’s lowest incidence of bearing and seal failure. A knockdown blade is integral to the roller frame and vibrating drums are isolated from the frame, minimizing vibration transmission to the host machine. With low maintenance and high productivity, these rollers have become a staple in rental fleets and made contractor’s lives much easier, MBW sources report. The units have standard universal quick-attach system. compensating valve block and a patented eccentric shaft design.

Stumper stump removal

Mid-size stump grinder
The Stumper 240 is a mid-size grinder that chews up to 8 inches of stump per pass while still maintaining high- or low-flow hydraulic power options. The direct-drive system has no gear boxes or electrical connections to maintain. Built with the same robust, simple design of all Stumper models, the 240 is the optimal choice for small to mid-size contractors. The 240 is compatible with a mini and regular skid steer, mini excavator, backhoe and UTV.

Hydraulic stump grinder
MTB Mfg. offers the Baumalight S40 stump grinder that is powered by a bent-axis piston motor that can be matched to the skid steer’s hydraulic flow. The 1.25-inch thick steel rotor is the backbone for its 20 bolt-on carbide Green Teeth, making it simple to rotate and replace teeth. The extra-large blast shield is hinged and has dual rows of chain curtains to contain and control chips during grinding. The hinge allows the shield to be raised to get into tight areas and for easy access to the rotor and teeth. The swing control can use the skid steer’s internal control through its 8 or 14-pin AUX connection for standard skid steers or the 7-pin connection of Bobcat skid steers loaders.
