Electric heavy construction equipment shows promise
Volvo Construction Equipment and its customer Skanska have recorded groundbreaking results from their Electric Site research project.
The initial tests from a 10-week research period show a 98 percent reduction in carbon emissions, a 70 percent reduction in energy cost and a 40 percent reduction in operator cost. Autonomous elecric vehicles play an inportatnt role, and results are so encouraging, the test will continue until the end of the year.
