With an operating weight of 61,749 pounds, it can excavate with a 1.63 cubic yard bucket and dig up to 21 feet 9 inches deep. With a tail swing radius of 5 feet 9 inches, it has 40 percent less tail swing than the JCB 220X model.
JCB devoted four years to hydraulic, electronic and electrical development to deliver a purpose-built machine that doesn’t just look strong but is strong. It underwent hot and cold climate testing (131F to -22F) and machine shaker rig testing that replicated 15,000 hours of tracking and vibration.
