New 450kVA Mobile Gaseous Generator
Generac Mobile Products has introduced a new generator that provides 450kVa of power and can automatically adapt and operate with no loss of power using natural gas, wellhead gas or liquid propane. The MGG450 from Generac Magnum has a 360kW prime power rating deliving 16.4kW/L to power large equipment in remote field locations.
The company says the generator's ensures continuous operation in extreme conditions. It's powered by a continuous-duty 21.9L Generac engine designed with numerous advancements, including an advanced fuel control system that minimizes fuel deration, a 1,500-hour service interval that reduces cost of operation; and knock sensors on each cylinder for long engine life with maximum power output.
“We listened to the needs of end-users and engineered a unit that addresses the need to better manage site costs while still providing the quality you expect from Generac,” says Russ Minick, executive vice president of NAM sales for Generac Power Systems. “Not only does the new MGG450 provide peak performance in the midst of extreme conditions, but it also integrates advanced technologies like fuel flexibility that automatically adjusts to LP, NG or wellhead gas. As a result, end-users minimize downtime with equipment that quickly adapts to spontaneous changes to their fuel sources.”
The demand for larger, more technologically advanced mobile products continues to grow, the company says. Rapidly changing field environments necessitate products that hold up to the harsh demands associated with oil fields and gas production, and are also designed to be flexible, smart and with longer service intervals to save money and reduce costly downtime. Other features include:
- 1,500-hour service interval; 40,000-hour major service interval
- Parallel/load-share ready
- Optional variable pitch fan that auto-adjusts for cooling/heating needs, and reduced fuel consumption
- Safety features include >125% fluid containment, fuel leak sensors, lock-outs
- UL2200 and CSA22.2 rated and fuel system is CSA B149 Compliant
