New Bobcat Compact Track Loader Has non-DPF Engine

Bobcat's T740 is a vertical-lift-path loader with an under-75 hp Tier 4-compliant diesel that doesn't require a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) or diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). The vertical-lift-path makes it easier to clear high-sided truck boxes and hoppers.

          ROC: 3200 lb.
Engine: 74 hp Tier 4 diesel
Lift height to hinge pin: 132 in.
          Operating weight: 10263 lb.
          Auxiliary hydraulic flow: 23 gpm
          High-flow option: 30.5 gpm

The hydraulic systems on M-Series loaders also have higher standard flow and pressure, for increased attachment performance. An optional 30.5-gpm high-flow hydraulic option gives T740 operators more attachment power, boosting machine productivity. More than 60 Bobcat attachments are approved for use with the T740.

Bobcat T740 compact track loaders use a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to meet Tier 4 emission standards, but without the need for a DPF. It uses an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine with a specifically designed engine combustion chamber that significantly reduces the amounts of particulate matter created during combustion — making Tier 4 compliance possible without using a DPF.

The T740 features a unique cab-forward design that moves operators closer to the attachment and the work area and provides visibility in all directions. The new loader has the largest cab door opening on the market, improving visibility to attachments, particularly to the cutting edge and corners of the bucket. Large side and rear windows provide more visibility to the tires or tracks, as well as the back of the machine. The large top window makes it easier and more comfortable for the operator when performing tasks such as loading trucks or tall hoppers.

Standard controls with power assist are the base control configuration for the T740. Selectable Joystick Controls (SJC) are available as an option. Simple check points and design elements make it easier to perform maintenance at the proper intervals. Auxiliary quick couplers are mounted directly to the front plate of the lift arm to provide a solid mounting, and hoses are routed through the loader arms for better protection. A guard bar extends in the front of the coupler for added protection and to minimize downtime.

The cooling system on the M-Series T740 allows for increased efficiency, is easy-to-clean, increases machine performance and helps prolong the service life of the machine.
