Perkins Debuts New Compact Diesel at ICUEE
Perkins is introducing its new 404F-E22TA Tier 4 Final compact diesel at the ICUEE show. The compact, 4-cylinder engine is the first of its size to feature common rail direct injection and full authority electronics, the company says.
The turbocharged, aftercooled 2.2 liter model is designed for compact equipment, particularly for construction equipment, and will be manufactured at the company's plan in Griffin, Georgia. The new engine allows eqiupment manufacturers to use a smaller displacement engine in mcahines were traditionally engines up to 2.9 liters have been the norm, according to Perkins.
The engine will deliver 67 hp with masimum torque of 208Nm at 1800 rpm, with rated speed up to 2800 rpm. A turbocharged, non-aftercooled model delivers up to 48 hp.
