Subaru Preps for WOC, The Rental Show

Subaru Industrial Power Products will showcase some of its products at World of Concrete (WOC) and at The Rental Show. The company's line-up includes its EX Series overhead cam engines and its generators. You can find them at booth C4537 at the World of Concrete, Feb. 2 - 5, in Las Vegas, and booth 1957 at The Renal Show in Atlanta, Feb. 21 - 24.

Subaru EX 40 engineThe company's EX40 engine is the largest model in its line of high-performance, air-cooled, 4-cycle engines. The EX line features chain-driven overhead cam technology, with four models available, from 4.3 to 14 hp. With a pent-roof-type (hemi) combustion chamber, the engines use a hgh compression ration to produce higher power and torque while limiting fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. An automatic decompression system reduces recoil pulling force by 30 to 40% compared to overhead valve engines. The design helps deliver fast, easy starts.

With fewer moving parts, OHC engines produce less mechanical noise than competitive technologies. The EX design also includes optimized-capacity rigid mufflers, producing a quieter, softer exhaust tone. A  patent-pending technology provides better cooling performance, for durability and longevity. The engine also includes a patent-pending oil delivery system, using a unique oil scraper on the connecting rod to deliver oil to the cam chain, which carries oil to the overhead cam and valve train. A special rocker cover design and breather system keep the camshaft and rocker arm bathed in oil, yet prevent spouting — whether the engine is level or inclined. Maintenance is simplified through high parts commonality.

SGX commercial-grade generators feature a large fuel tank, no-flat tires and large mufflers. The line includes the SGX3500, SGX5000 and the SGX7500E generators, which subaru sgx 5000 generatoruse the EX Series engines. Generators used 100 % copper winding for improved conduction and maximized surge capacities. Stators are varnish dipped for a stronger bond and better coverage in all the crevices, which better protects the winding from movement, moisture and debris.

All SGX models incorporate an automatic voltage regulator system that provides precise voltage control output for more sensitive equipment and electronics, a low-oil-level sensor with automatic shutoff to protect the engine from damage, and an easy-to-read fuel gauge.

The SGX3500 delivers a maximum output of 3,500 watts, and it features Subaru’s EX21 7-hp engine and a 4-gallon fuel tank for a total run time of eight hours at the rated load. A 9.5-hp EX30 engine powers the SGX5000, which offers a maximum output of 4,900 watts. Subaru’s SGX5000 fuel tank capacity can hold eight gallons for a total continuous run time of 10.7 hours at the rated load. The SGX7500E features a 14-hp EX40 engine that provides a maximum output of 7,500 watts. Its eight-gallon fuel tank provides seven hours of operation at the rated load. This SGX7500E also includes an electric starting system with recoil backup.
