13-amp reciprocating saw
Skilsaw introduces its first reciprocating saw with buzzkill technology.
Buzzkill technology is a patented full-frame counterbalance system that suppresses vibration up to 35 percent over the competition, Skilsaw sources report. That means comfortable, controlled cuts that won’t wear out the user or the saw, as well as superior cut control and faster cutting.
While some tools on the market feature a rotational system, which transmits vibration in multiple directions, the Skilsaw reciprocating saw features a linear system, which simplifies the counterbalance to maintain superior vibration control with fewer wear points. The reduced vibration makes the tool more durable, increasing its lifespan and providing greater comfort for the user.
Skilsaw engineers also developed the patented single-wobble drive train, which reduces friction to reduce heat buildup for a longer tool life. In addition, the 13-amp reciprocating saw features a unique clock-spring brush system. The constant spring is designed for durability and optimal motor performance as the saw pushes through the cut, regardless of heat or dust flow.
Other notable features include a variable-speed trigger for cutting specialized materials, a secure tool-less blade clamp that holds up to harsh jobsite demands and an oversized trigger for flexibility in multiple cutting positions.
“We understand there is a wide offering in the existing reciprocating saw market,” says Bogdan Moldovan, product manager at Skilsaw. “However, we were confident that we could go further, and we did. After extensive research, including working with pros across the country, we’re excited to give users a reciprocating saw option with all-new distinctive features.”
While the 13-amp SPT44A-00 reciprocating saw is a compact model with an ergonomic design for lighter use, its tough motor still provides enough power for any application. It is the only reciprocating saw in the compact market with both a counterbalance and a single-wobble drive train. The 13-amp reciprocating saw is priced competitively at $99.
“Expanding our product offering from circular to linear cutting further positions Skilsaw as a professional cutting solution provider for different materials,” says Jason Schickerling, director of Product Development at Skilsaw. “In 2015, we launched metal-cutting, fiber-cement and worm-drive table saws, and most recently, in 2016, we launched our first concrete saw for cutting and scoring. We strive to design better tools that allow pros to work smarter, not harder, on today’s demanding jobsites.“
A 15-amp heavy-duty reciprocating saw, also with Buzzkill technology, will be available later this year. The SPT44-10 will address user demand for fast, reliable cut performance that remains consistent, even during intense applications and frequent job site use. The 15-amp reciprocating saw features an orbital mode switch and variable-speed dial that provide faster cutting in wood and specialized materials, and an adjustable shoe for improved control and cut depth. The tool offers a comfortable solution that pros can use all day with minimal fatigue, Skilsaw sources report. The 15-amp reciprocating saw is priced competitively at $179.
