The American Rental Association’s Soothsayers predict a strong rental environment for the coming year
By Clair Urbain, Editor
As we head into the final weeks of 2018, take a pause and think about how the year has played out.
The economy remains strong; construction and infrastructure projects of all types and sizes continue to progress. The weather has been wily and created some interesting and profitable opportunities for rental centers of all sizes.
What does 2019 hold and what are your plans to be ready to take advantage of opportunities as they appear? Are you thinking about adding a complementary line of equipment to your rental fleet? Invest in attachments that could improve your utilization rate and net you additional revenue with each rental? Thinking about opening a new branch or expand your present facility?
The American Rental Association’s soothsayers predict a strong rental environment for the coming year; and the next several, in fact. Increasingly, contractors would rather pay for the use of equipment when they need it and let someone else carry the equipment and maintenance worries on their balance sheets. Rental houses are playing a larger and larger role in successful contractors’ business strategies.
With each new model introduced, manufacturers are building more technology into equipment. It’s getting easier to use and the data becomes more meaningful as mobile devices can increasingly tap into that information in real time. Fleet managers, service technicians and even rental/sales representatives can better use their time, experience and talent to make sure equipment is ready, working and where it is supposed to be.
I pledge to you to continue to share the latest information about new equipment and other strategies that can help you take advantage of the coming opportunities in 2019 and beyond.
