Josh Nickell now CEO at Northside Tool Rental
Northside Tool Rental, a family-owned southeastern equipment rental business, appoints industry veteran Josh Nickell as the new chief executive officer (CEO).
Nickell begins his role excited to build on the success of Jeff and Steffen Lignugaris and their grandfather, Roy Milling, a pioneer in the equipment rental industry and the 9th president of the American Rental Association (ARA).
“Northside Tool Rental has more than a 71-year legacy created from the idea of ‘equipment rental built by relationships,’” says Nickell. “I aim to use this foundation coupled with the latest technology and best practices from inside and outside the industry to serve the DIY market and professional contractors left behind by industry consolidation. We have an enthusiastic and experienced team with exciting plans to continue to expand Northside Tool Rental. I’m honored to take on the role and use my expertise to help another family business in Atlanta.”
Nickell, most recently the vice president of the equipment segment, technology and workforce development at the ARA, brings his decades of rental experience to Northside Tool Rental. His family’s rental business, Nickell Rental, was recognized four times by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. Nickell then spent time working for Sunbelt Rentals after Nickell Rental’s acquisition. He has also worked for a global rental software company.
