Virginia Abrasives Corporation announces new sales vice president and channel managers.
Virginia Abrasives has promoted three employees in a reorganization of key sales management roles, naming a new vice president of sales, national accounts manager and rental channel manager and hiring a new channel manager in the pro flooring segment.
Richard Wheeler has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales at Virginia Abrasives. Wheeler has served as the company’s national accounts sales manager since 2013. His extensive career in the rental industry has seen him grow from a store employee at A to Z Rentals in Wilmington, North Carolina to eventual equity partner. He has also spent time working with Q.E.P. Co, Inc., advancing from operations manager to vice president of sales for the Porta-Nails product line.
Tadd Duvendack has been named Richard Wheeler’s successor as national accounts manager. Duvendack started with the company in 2018 as Midwest regional sales manager. Prior to joining Virginia Abrasives, he worked 24 years with Bil-Jax Inc./Haulotte Group, serving as the national sales manager, service dealer program manager and developer as well as industrial scaffold sales manager.
John Keith has been promoted to rental channel sales manager. Keith has been with the company since 2006 and previously served as Southeast regional sales manager. Prior to joining the company, he served in various roles with Sunbelt Rentals, Inc., Distefano Sales Company and TopTec Event Tents.
Rounding out the new leadership team is Brett Butler, pro flooring channel sales manager. Butler's 20 years in the flooring industry have included roles with Ciranova USA, SLCC Flooring, DriTac Flooring Products, Bona US and New Parks/Zinsser, a division of RustOleum. In this role, he will be instrumental in building distributorships for Virginia Abrasives' professional flooring products.
One of only five companies that makes sandpaper in the United States, Virginia Abrasives carries a vast assortment of cutting, finishing, surface preparation and floor care products and solutions. This includes diamond abrasives for concrete and asphalt cutting and surface preparation, bonded abrasives, concrete power trowel blades, floor grinder tooling and polishing pads. Private-label abrasives are a growing part of the company’s product offerings as well, letting companies market their brands on the consumable products sold in their business.
