Metabo HPT adds to its cordless lineup with the launch of a 36V MultiVolt brushless 4-1/2-inch variable-speed paddle switch angle grinder (model G3612DVFQ6), a 36V MultiVolt brushless 4-1/2 inch variable speed slide switch angle grinder (model G3612DVEQ6)and a 36V MultiVolt brushless 6-inch variable-speed paddle switch angle grinder (model G3615DVFQ6).The models offer complete freedom to tackle grinding jobs on the go and deliver 18 percent more power** than the previous models.
These new 36V MultiVolt grinders are sold as tool body only and are part of the ever-expanding MultiVolt System of power tools from Metabo HPT. They accept any 18V/36V MultiVolt battery for extreme power and runtime and accept the unique AC Adapter - model ET36A (sold separately) to plug in for all-day runtime, offering ultimate versatility and extending battery life.
With 1500W of maximum output power, they have six speed settings from 3,200 to 10,000 rpm for the 4-1/2 inch models and 3,200 to 8,000 rpm for the 6-inch model plus 5,500 rpm auto mode make these the grinders you need whether you are polishing/finishing, removing paint, rust, burrs, grinding or rough grinding to easily adjust the speed best suited to the application.
The brushless motors provide ultra-efficient grinding performance with minimal maintenance and the added benefit of reduced tool weight and size. The ultra-slim grip diameter on these grinders at just over 2 inches, makes them easier to handle and more comfortable to use, especially during extended periods.
Provided safety features include:
- Brake safety functions that quickly stop the wheels from spinning when the switch/paddles are released
- Kickback protection shuts off the power in the event of a bound wheel
- Zero voltage restart prevents restarting if the power is temporarily cut during operation
- Soft start reduces the load felt by the user during startup
- Drop shut off stops the motor if the tool is dropped (G3612DVEQ6 model only)
- Overload protection stops the motor when too much pressure is applied to protect the motor and gear box from damage
No-lock paddle-switch grinders cannot be activated unless the lock-off lever is pushed down to avoid unintentional starting (G3612DVFQ6 & G3615DVFQ6 paddle switch grinders only).
The improved tool-less wheel guards and three-position anti-vibration side handles provide increased operational efficiency and comfort. Removable dust screens offer additional protection for the motors against dust and debris and ensure that the grinders are operating effectively. The dust and water-resistant switches add durability. These grinders offer dual LED lights located on both sides of the gear housing to provide bright light during use. The 4 ½-inch models weigh just 5.1 pounds and the 6-inch model weighs 5.3 pounds for easier mobility and less fatigue.
Perhaps the most unique advantage for 36V MultiVolt cordless tools from Metabo HPT is the ability to transform to corded use with the AC adapter (model ET36A (sold separately). Users can conveniently get the functionality of cordless and corded capability in one tool.
These cordless grinder come with 4-1/2 inch abrasive wheels and 4-1/2 inch tool-less wheel guards (G3612DVFQ6 & G3612DVEQ6), or a 6-inch abrasive wheel and 6-inch tool-less wheel guard (G3615DVFQ6), side handle, spanner wrench, hex bar wrench and carrying bag. They accept the 18V/36V 8.0Ah/4.0Ah MultiVolt battery, 18V/36V 5.0Ah/2.5Ah MultiVolt battery and the AC adapter with cord (ET36A)- all sold separately. They’re backed by Metabo HPT’s one-year warranty.
