Spider lift line expands

Falcon Lifts and USM ReRents introduces the Falcon Sigma line of smaller spider lifts for indoor and outdoor applications.

Falcon Lifts A/S, the inventor and oldest manufacturer of spider lifts in the world, introduces a newly developed product range of five spider lift models with working heights from 44 to 88.5 feet (13 to 27 meters).

The Falcon Sigma product range complements Falcon’s larger existing models, thus offering a complete product portfolio of spider lifts with working heights up to 44 to 170.5 feet (13 to 52 meters) for all applications.

The Falcon Sigma range are track-mounted and available as hybrid or all-electric lithium battery-powered versions.

The need for smaller spider lifts with exceptional quality and superior after-sales services that existing Falcon Lifts customers have come to expect played an important part of the development and design of the Falcon Sigma range, says Brian Falck Schmidt, Falcon sales director. “Many of our valued customers have been asking for smaller Falcons in the exceptional quality and the same features they experience from the traditional Falcon Lifts models. We are very pleased to finally being able to offer the new range of products with working heights from 13 to 27 meters that we believe answers the needs of our quality-conscious customers,” says Falck Schmidt.

“We see the interest in spider lifts increasing dramatically in the United States,” says Matt Kline, CFO of U.S. Markets, parent company of USM ReRents. “What makes the Falcon line different from any other spider lift is the commitment to service and support after the sale to assure customers are working productively with the units.”

The units are outfitted with state-of the-art telematics systems that allow remote diagnosis and even problem resolution. “This will greatly reduce in-field downtime and improve customer satisfaction,” says Falck Schmidt.

Increased productivity and ROI

Kline reports that one maintenance crew in an arena proved the productivity of the spider unit concept. In years past, annual maintenance required crews to close the venue seven days while it laid down a protective floor, then built scaffolding to reach overhead components that required annual attention. With a Falcon Sigma spider lift, the annual task was completed in two hours. “The crew saved nearly 6 days at a far less net cost than previous maintenance efforts. They were able to complete the work quickly and safely from the 440 pound-capacity basket. “

The versatile line can be used indoors or out and can fit through single man-door and can travel up and down elevations, including, in many cases, steps. The units weigh less than half of what conventional boom lifts weigh and can be transported with a pickup truck and trailer. Kline predicts a strong interest from tree care, airport maintenance and construction, arena and stadium construction maintenance and other markets.

The Sigma models will be available in April 2021 in North America through USM ReRents. In addition to the Falcon Sigma product range, Falcon Lifts will also launch new Falcon models during 2021 with unique and ground-breaking features that will enable customers to perform new tasks, sources report.
