189 cfm air delivery compressor

Chicago Pneumatic Power Technique (CP) has completely redesigned its popular CPS 185 portable compressor unit. Now available in the U.S., the CPS 185 Kubota is a single-stage oil-injected rotary screw type air compressor.

This model is ideal for a wide range of general construction applications and features several new updates from its predecessor. This includes the enclosure, external lifting eye, internal toolbox, fluid containment, controller and compressor service intervals.

CPS 185 compressor
Chicago Pneumatic Power Technique (CP) has completely redesigned its popular CPS 185 portable compressor unit. Now available in the U.S., the CPS 185 Kubota is a single-stage oil-injected rotary screw type air compressor.

Rugged durability
Joining the CPS 110 and CPS 250 compressor models, the CPS 185 now features a noise dampening Redrock canopy made out of a heavy double-polyethylene shell. The canopy is dent- and UV-resistant, and holds resale value by looking new longer.

This corrosion-free enclosure protects the working parts and ensures the unit performs to its maximum capabilities, day in and day out. A large internal toolbox also offers room to store a 90-pound hammer inside the machine.

Performance
With the latest rotary screw technology, the CPS 185 offers 189 cfm free air delivery at 2.37 gallons an hour. A 27-gallon fuel tank is sufficiently sized to operate the unit for more than 11 hours at full-load operation.

The machine is equipped with a Kubota Tier 4 Final, turbocharged, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine. It has an engine output at a rated speed of 49 horsepower at 2,700 rpm.

The engine is capable of starting the compressor at 14F with the aid of a standard glowplug. Cold-start options are available to start the unit up to -13F.

Simplified maintenance
A new feature is a spin-on compressor oil separator, which simplifies maintenance to less than a one-hour service with no special tools required. With the cold weather option, compressor service intervals increase from 1,000 hours to 1,500 hours or two years.

Controller
One controller regulates the entire machine. The new Xc1004 controller features a large 3.5-inch display and is easy to operate with all functions conveniently located at the user’s fingertips. While running, the panel displays hours, fuel level and outlet pressure, as well as additional measurements, such as rpm, temperatures, voltage and more. It features a number of safety warnings and shutdowns for high temperature, engine coolant and compressor oil, engine oil pressure and low fuel level.

Easy transportation to job site
Transportability is made easy with the CPS 185’s heavy-duty single axle, 15-inch tires and external lifting eye, which allows for easy access in getting both on and off the job site.

Environmentally friendly

The CPS 185 compressor includes a 110 percent spillage-free containment frame to protect the environment from spills, leaks and to avoid costly clean up.
