New air compressor models

Chicago Pneumatic releases new CPS 185, CPS 400 “Engineered in the USA” air compressor fleet.

Chicago Pneumatic and Power Technique North America released the new CPS 185 and CPS 400 air compressors that bring added durability and performance to its air compressor offering.

Engineered and built in Rock Hill, SC, the CPS 185 and CPS 400 are upgraded models, designed for the toughest environments, sources report.

The move to production in Rock Hill was driven by customers specifications. By manufacturing products in the United States, there's added control over the product, and this brings additional value to our customers.

"The move towards production in Rock Hill means our customers receive a U.S.-assembled product with better availability,” says Eric Massinon, business development manager for Chicago Pneumatic. “With more features offered as standard, and more flexibility to add options for customer's specific needs."

Air pressure, fuel level and running hours are all displayed on screen, as well as additional measurements — such as engine speed, temperatures, oil pressure and voltage — for easy diagnosis and troubleshooting. The Xc1004 controller is easy to operate and can effectively display compressor and engine measurements, warnings, alarms, and operational settings, routine service requirements and more.

It’s easy to operate with all functions conveniently at your fingertips. The controller also manages the engine ECU operating system and several safety warnings, shutdowns on various parameters and full digital pressure control with multi pressure.

Designed for reliability, the CPS 400 is engineered with built-in warmup and cool-down programs to help improve the engine and compressor’s reliability and overall lifetime. The newest model to the lineup also includes 1,000 hour/one year service interval that reduces the maintenance frequency. It’s gull-wing doors also provide an easy access to all service points.

“Everything that we do starts and ends with you, our customer,” says Marius Cristescu, product marketing manager for air at Chicago Pneumatic. “Before we start doing the design, we listened to our Unites States-based customers and designed and built a simple, easy-to-use, state-of-the-art compressor that gets the job done right in any tough applications.”

The compressors will be formally introduced at the ARA Show in Orlando in February 2023.
