Vertical mast MEWP
The Skyjack SJ20 vertical mast has a 20-foot platform height, full electric drive and an optional wind rating.
The SJ20 lift features proportional lift and drive controls with full electric drive, the latter in response to the growing demand for vertical masts with increased duty cycle expectations. The higher height also meant a new 5-section mast design with a closed multistage cylinder.

The SJ20’s consistent torque provides up to 25 percent gradeability and a 350-pound platform capacity. It holds a GVW of 2,440 pounds, meaning low ground pressure, making this product ideal for standard elevator and mezzanine applications.
Similar to Skyjack’s Next Generation DC scissor lifts, the SJ20 features an onboard diagnostic system. By providing operators or service technicians with real-time faults in plain language, the industry leader has eliminated the need for plug-in calibration for day-to-day troubleshooting.
While designing the SJ20, Skyjack engineers kept the customer demand for both indoor and outdoor applications in mind. With an optional wind rating for one person up to 13 feet, the rating increases the application possibilities and rate of return for rental companies.
The new SJ20 mast design minimizes site debris, buildup, damage to components and is free from any chains, sheaves, or bushings, which reduces maintenance.
Skyjack’s existing SJ12 and SJ16 keep the mast to the rear of the control position and the SJ20 is no exception. Other commonalities with its smaller counterparts include:
- A traversing deck providing up to 16 inches of up-and-over capability
- Easy-access maintenance hatch, with unrestricted access to all major components including batteries
- Improved ground clearance for pothole protection without components to maintain or potentially snag on cords or debris
