As energy infrastructure faces growing pressure from rising demand, widespread electrification, and the transition to cleaner power sources, equipment rental providers are increasingly seeking flexible, efficient, and resilient solutions. In response, HiPower Systems introduces the EHR hybrid power generator, a next-generation mobile power solution engineered to meet the evolving demands of the rental market.
The EHR hybrid unit combines HiPower’s advanced EHR battery energy storage system (BESS) with a Tier 4 Final-compliant diesel or spark-ignited generator in a single, trailer-mounted unit. This hybrid configuration delivers reliable power while significantly reducing fuel consumption, emissions, and operating costs—key priorities for rental fleets and their customers.
Available in multiple fuel options, the unit provides 20 to 40 kVA of generator output paired with 20–60 kWh of battery storage, offering flexible performance across a wide range of job site applications. By intelligently managing load demand, the system enables the generator to operate only, when necessary, while the battery supplies power during periods of low load.
Hybridizing a generator with battery storage delivers measurable benefits for rental operations, includingup to 40 percent reduction in fuel consumption, 40 percent lower emissions, up to 80 percent reduction in generator run hours and reduced maintenance requirements by as much as 50 percent. Users can expect extended generator lifespan and elimination of wet stacking and improved load profiles which reduces the need to oversize generator sets for motor starts.
At the core of the system is HiPower’s HiCore controller, a plug-and-play platform that continuously monitors load demand and automatically adjusts operation for optimal efficiency. The integrated HiCore Assistant guides users through startup and operating modes, making the EHR Hybrid model intuitive and user-friendly in the field.
Built for rapid deployment, the unit is pre-wired and rental-ready, featuring a standard customer connection panel with Series 16 camlocks with 50A and 20A receptacles for fast and safe hookups. For customers looking to incorporate renewable energy, the unit also supports up to 8 kW of solar input via two integrated 4 kW MPPTs, allowing solar to function as a true power source within the hybrid system.
