New Bobcat Skid Steer Loader

Bobcat has released its first Tier 4-compliant 700 frame-size loader. The S740, with its ROC of 3,100 lbs., is powered by a 74 hp engine that doesn’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) or diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

  • Rated operating capacity: 3100 lb.
  • Lift path: Vertical
  • Engine: 74 hp Tier 4 diesel
  • Lift height to hinge pin: 132 in.
  • Operating weight: 8730 lb.
  • Auxiliary hydraulic flow: 23 gpm
  • High-flow option: 30.5 gpm

Bobcat S740 skid-steer loaders use an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine that has a specially-designed combustion chamber, which significantly reduces the amounts of particulate matter created during combustion. Because of this it can use a deisel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to achieve Tier 4 compliance without using a DPF.

The S740, a vertical-lift-path machine, joins the company's M-Series line of 11 skid steer models. The M-Series loaders have higher standard flow and pressure, providing for increased attachment performance. An optional high-flow hydraulic option of 30.5 gpm gives S740 operators more attachment power, boosting machine productivity.

Like all M-Series skid-steer loaders, the S740 features a unique cab-forward design that moves the operator closer to the attachment It's large cab door opening, provides superior visibility to attachments and to the cutting edge and corners of a bucket. Larger side and rear windows provide more visibility to the tires and back of the machine and the larger top window makes it easier and more comfortable for the operator when loading trucks or tall hoppers.

The large, comfortable cab is pressurized and sealed for operator comfort. Operators also have the choice between standard foot pedal hydraulic controls, the Advanced Control System (ACS) or the Selectable Joystick Controls (SJC).

Simple check points and design elements make it easier to perform maintenance at the proper intervals. The auxiliary quick couplers are mounted directly to the front plate of the lift arm to provide a solid mounting, and hoses are routed through the loader arms for better protection. A guard bar extends in the front of the coupler for added protection. The redesigned cooling system on the M-Series S740 allows for increased efficiency, is easy to clean and increases machine performance.
