Product Focus: Compact wheel loaders

JCB wheel loader

Performance and cost efficiency
The JCB 407 compact wheel loader is a highly productive loader with a standard one cubic-yard bucket and a hinge pin height of 10 feet 3 inches. It is powered by an efficient 64 horsepower JCB Diesel by Kohler engine that requires no replaceable diesel particulate filter (DPF) or productivity-sapping engine regeneration. High-quality driveline components from Dana and Bosch further contribute to the unit’s exceptional reliability, low maintenance costs and strong residual value. It has a three-year, 3,000-hour full machine warranty and LiveLink telematics system.

Gehl wheel loader

Articulated wheel loaders
The Gehl 650 and 750 articulated loaders can maneuver in tight places with minimal ground damage. Weighing in at 4 to 5 metric tons, the Gehl 650 and 750 have engines rated at 65 and 74 gross horsepower respectively. The units work in concert with industry-leading horsepower management technology and a planetary final drive to produce high traction and fuel efficiency. A heavy-duty articulating joint offers 45-degree turning angles with 10 degrees of oscillation in both directions for optimal traction and maneuverability. Travel speeds of up to 19 mph allow fast work cycles. The comfortable operator cabin has a seven-way adjustable seat, fully-adjustable steering column, cup holder, adjustable armrest and a multi-function single joystick for easy operation. Wide openings in the front and side of the machine provide 360-degree job visibility.

Cat wheel loader

Adjustable control response
The Cat M Series 906M, 907M and 908M compact wheel loaders feature Caterpillar’s exclusive Optimized Z-bar loader linkage that combines aggressive digging power with parallel lift. A range of work tools and couplers are available, ensuring optimum versatility and productivity. Options include a high-speed configuration, ride control system and high-flow hydraulics. The models are powered by a transversely mounted Cat C3.3B 75-horsepower Tier 4 final-compliant engine that offers excellent service access. Single-plane coolers use a hydraulically driven fan or an optional Cat Demand Fan that operates at maximum speed only when required. In Eco mode, the engine maintains full rim pull and breakout force at high idle, saving fuel and lowers sound levels. The Cat Hystat system produces 22 mph top speed; an optional stop-to-shift transmission allows the operator to choose maximum rim pull and maximum travel speed. The cab features two side-entry doors, low-effort joystick, suspended pedals, tilt steering wheel, air-suspended and heated seat and optional security keypad. The multi-function loader-control joystick also incorporates transmission and differential-lock controls plus proportional control of auxiliary circuits.

Case wheel loader

Improved maneuverability
The Case 321F compact wheel loader is designed for improved maneuverability, versatility and performance. It features a Case maintenance-free 74-horsepower Tier 4 Final-complaint engine and a more compact design that offers greater  breakout force and lift capacity than previous models. The 321F features increased attachment compatibility, exclusive electronic controls and added cab comfort. It has a shorter wheelbase and smaller turning radius that makes it easier to load and transport. It has simple rocker switches and dials that allow the operator change operating parameters without affecting travel speed. It also features the Case Automatic Ride Control that engages at faster speeds to reduce spillage and machine lopping. A high-flow hydraulics option offers increased flow and power for auxiliary attachments; its new horizontal pin coupler expands the range of attachments that can be used, including those made by other manufacturers.

Kubota wheel loader

Visibility, power and productivity
The Kubota R530 and R630 wheel loaders offer unrivaled visibility, high power and unmatched productivity, sources report. Standard four-wheel drive, 100 percent on-demand differential lock and rear frame oscillation provide excellent traction, ride and stability. The R630 features four operating modes that can be easily selected to match the job. The optional heated and air conditioned enclosed cab ensures year-round comfort. The joystick-mounted forward/reverse switch allows for convenient, on-the-go direction changes without clutching or braking. An optional quick coupler, available in skid loader or Euro-style coupler configurations makes fast, safe and easy bucket and attachment changes. Maintenance is completed quickly with easy access points. The R530 and R630 are powered by a reliable Kubota Tier 4 Final-compliant diesel engine.

John Deere wheel loader

L-Series compact wheel loaders
John Deere 204L and 304L compact wheel loaders deliver higher productivity, increased uptime and lower daily operating costs. The 62 horsepower 204L and 67 horsepower 304L models are equipped with Final Tier 4 Yanmar engines and fuel-efficient hydrostatic transmissions that minimize noise while providing the productivity needed on the job. Optional ride control reduces material spillage and offers a smoother ride over rough terrain. Automatically activated front and rear differential locks increase traction in harsh conditions. The 204L can be configured to be less than 8 feet high. The units have hydraulically released, self-adjusting brakes, ground-level maintenance points and excellent cooler access. The models are available with an enclosed cab and an improved interior cooling system. Auxiliary hydraulic control for attachments is located on the joystick and an optional LED lighting package increases productivity.

Volvo wheel loader

Greater fuel efficiency, visibility, performance
The new Volvo L20H and L25H compact wheel loaders are powered by a Tier 4 Final-compliant Volvo D2.6M engine that delivers five percent greater fuel efficiency and eight percent more horsepower than previous models. The fully automatic hydrostatic drive has two speed settings with top speed of 18.6 mph. At 8 feet 1 inches tall and a turning radius of 26 feet 11 inches, they offer excellent maneuverability. They have a 38-degree articulation and 10-degree oscillating joint as well as operator-activated 100-percent differential locks on both axles. The models offer all-around visibility and minimal noise and vibration levels. The FOPS/ROPS cab is larger than past models with more window area and one of the largest cab filters available. The joystick offers three-function control, including hydraulic attachments. The flow-sharing valve allows lift and tilt corrections during attachment operation. The optional high-flow hydraulics deliver up to 2,900 psi/29 gpm.

Takeuchi wheel loader

Compact wheel loader
The Takeuchi TW40 wheel loader can work in areas with limited space. A hydraulic skid steer-style universal attachment coupler makes attachment changes easy. The wheel loader delivers class-leading power and precision control for increased productivity. It has a turbocharged 39.4 horsepower, EPA Interim Tier 4-compliant Perkins engine with extended-life coolant, a dual-element air cleaner with restriction indicator and a heavy-duty radiator and oil cooler.
