Remote and mobile apps 
Visum will be sharing what’s new with FocalPoint Remote, a new web-based application that allows rental centers to process equipment returns, capture signatures and e-mail orders from a tablet or laptop. It will also be featuring FocalPoint mobile edition that allows rental store management access to store information directly from an Apple or Android smartphone, making it possible to check rental inventory availability and rates; access customer contact information; view equipment history; rental return on investment and customer balances and daily store revenue reports.

Low-emission engine
Kohler Engines is rolling out the ECH440LE engine, a modified version of its popular Kohler Command Pro EFI ECH440 with new, lower emission output. The engine significantly reduces carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) without sacrificing engine performance. Kohler’s closed-loop EFI system is specifically calibrated for low emissions. An integrated catalytic exhaust system, in combination with its closed-loop system, helps lower harmful emissions. An oxygen sensor in the engine’s muffler continuously adjusts fuel injection to optimize performance.

TP185WDO air compressor
The Doosan Portable Power P185WDO air compressor is powered by a Tier 4 Final-compliant Doosan D24 engine with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) maintenance-free aftertreatment system. The engine provides improved cold-starting capability while delivering a 7-percent increase in fuel efficiency over previous models. It is rated at 74 dBa and delivers 10 hours of runtime at 100-percent load and has 500-hour service intervals. It produces 100 psi at 185 cfm.

Solid skid steer tires
Engineered to handle the most severe applications, MWE Solid HD skid steer tires combines the benefits of a hard-surface tire with enough tread to give plenty of traction, MWE sources report. The 2 1⁄2-inch deep massive tread lugs and taper voids pattern promote self-cleaning while mud breakers eliminate mud from suctioning. With a smaller wheel, the MWE Solid HD offers the most rubber from rim-to-road. These flat-proof tires are ideal for recycling, paving or milling applications as well as any hard-surface, severe-service application. They are available in 33x12-18 and 30x10-16 sizes.

Scissor lift for delicate floors
Custom Equipment Inc. offers the HB-1230 scissor lift for projects on delicate flooring, including tile, laminate, raised floors and mezzanines. It has a zero turn radius for maximum reach in confined areas and is an alternative to mast lifts with easier maneuverability and greater productivity, sources report. It has an 18-foot working height and its 30-inch wide by 55-inch long platform can hold 550 pounds. An extension adds nearly 29 inches of length. It weighs 1,610 pounds and features dual front wheels that distribute the machine’s weight for lower wheel loads. With a lighter weight, it allows users to get onto poured concrete several days sooner than with heavier models.

Texture kit
Kraft Tool Co.’s Super-Pro texture gun and hopper with compressor is the ideal unit to use when spraying texture material. It has a 2.5-gallon hopper with a built-in control handle that features an ergonomic 40-degree hopper angle. The patented gun cylinder features an easy-pull, full-grip bronze trigger for less fatigue and has five spray settings and easy shut-off valve. The unit is equipped with a 1-hp. electric motor, a rotary vane compressor, two-wheeled cart and a heavy-duty 200 psi hose.

The Boxer 950HD compact utility loader includes features previously found only on full-size skid-steer models. It has the industry’s highest hinge pin height at 95.5 inches, allowing it to easily dump over a 6-foot side wall. It has a class-leading 48-hp. Tier 4 Final-compliant diesel engine with diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) that does not require after-treatment. The 950HD’s tip capacity of 2,734 pounds and 35 percent SAE rated operating capacity of 954 poundasprovide the power for even the toughest jobs. 26-ton torsion axle log splitter
Iron & Oak will debut its torsion axle log splitter. The BHVH2616GXT features an independent torsion axle for smoother towing. The splitter has a 26-ton splitting force and comes standard with Honda GX270 engine and log dislodger. Cycle time is just 12 seconds. Other key features include a 25-inch log opening, 6-inch heavy-duty formed steel beam, 6-inch high-carbon steel wedge and a 4.5-inch by 24-inch clevis cylinder for ultimate durability.

Portable compressor
Kaeser Compressors will feature its M58 Mobilair portable compressor, which delivers 210 cfm at 100 psig. It has a powder-coated, fully weatherproofed steel cabinet and a single-point lifting bail for easy mounting/dismounting. The eye-level, curbside instrument panel features the user-friendly Sigma Control Smart electronic controller. The 28-gallon fuel tank provides up to 10 full hours of operation. The Tier 4 Final-compliant Kubota diesel engine is direct-coupled to the energy-saving Sigma Profile airend that produces more air with less horsepower. Gull wing doors allow quick access for easy servicing and reduce noise levels.

Compact excavator
Kubota introduces the KX033-4, a new 3-ton class KX033-4 compact excavator. With a 24.8 gross hp. engine, it offers a breakout force of 8,138 pounds and a digging depth of 10.5 feet. A valve allows auxiliary oil to be diverted without removal of the thumb attachment, making other attachments easier to use. It is equipped with many comfort enhancements, including a roomier cab, large entrance, increased legroom, digital panel and enhanced ergonomics to reduce operator fatigue on the job.

Core drills, core rigs and core bits
Lackmond Products Inc. recently entered into a joint venture with BB+Tec, a leading European manufacturer in the drilling and fastening market since 1969, to market and sell its core drills and rigs in North America. The new equipment will be marketed under the Beast and BB+Tec brands. In January 2017, Lackmond will launch the Beast/B+BTec compact core drills, mast-mounted core rigs, core bits and other related accessories.

Electric breaker hammer
The 70-pound Makita HM1812 Advanced AVT breaker hammer is an electric hammer with the performance of an air hammer, sources report. With 53.9 ft.-lbs. of impact energy, it is engineered to operate with less noise and vibration and no hassle of an air hose and compressor. Also available in a kit (model HM1812X3), which includes a premium hammer cart as well as two 1 1/8-inch by 20 1/2-inch flat chisels and two 16-inch self-sharpening bull point bits.

Inverter generator 
Mi-T-M Corporation will display its new 3,000-watt inverter generator that provides clean and quiet power for job sites as well as camping and recreational activities. Compact and easy to move, this generator has a 212 cc Mi-T-M overhead valve engine with low-oil shutdown and recoil start. It’s right-sized to power tools and charge battery packs with its DC/battery-charging capabilities. Copper windings and an alternator offers total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 3 percent and can provide power for sensitive electronic equipment. Units can be paralleled.

JLG Industries Inc. will showcase several products and aftermarket services. The JLG 1932R electric scissor lift (top) is an affordably priced addition to JLG’s scissor line. Designed with low total cost of ownership in mind, it offers serviceability, reliability and durability. The 1932R features a platform height of 19 feet and platform capacity of 550 pounds.The JLG G5-18A super compact telehandler (bottom) is ideal for work in congested spaces or with overhead height restrictions. It has a 127-inch turning radius, stowed height of less than 76 inches, maximum lift height up to 18 feet, extended outreach of 11 feet and a 5,500-pound maximum lifting capacity.  Booth 4163

Tier 4 Final-compliant compressor
Sullair will unveil its new 400H Tier 4 Final-compliant portable air compressor with an alternative engine produced by Cummins. It offers a versatile blend of flow and pressure to cater to a wide variety of rental customers. Simple display and controls reduce operator training, and swinging doors enable the machine to operate in 120 F ambient temperatures. Side doors with slam latches allow easy access for service and maintenance; its compact design enables easier towing and maneuverability. A 65-gallon fuel tank will power the unit for a full eight-hour shift.

4WD hybrid technology boom lift
Terex AWP introduces a new fuel-electric Genie Z-boom lift that offers operators two machines in one package for indoor and outdoor applications, while providing lower cost of operation and cleaner performance. Driven by high-efficiency AC motors, it combines the benefits of advanced diesel power, four-wheel drive performance and the cleaner, quieter efficiency of compact, low-weight electric-powered booms. It can be operated in Full-Electric mode or Hybrid mode, which provides more than a week of runtime on a tank of diesel fuel.
