Bomag breaks ground

Bomag Americas has broken ground on a new North American headquarters facility in Ridgeway, S. C.

The $18.2 million facility will provide office space as well as 107,100 square feet for spare parts, warehousing and machine assembly.

Walter Link, president of Bomag Americas said, “We believe this area offers our company several strategic benefits, such as close to port of entry, proximity to an air hub for spare parts fulfilment, and a climate conducive to offering year-round sales and service training for our customers.”

Vice president of sales Rob Mueckler added, “The primary objective of this new facility is to strengthen the services of our North American organization with the purpose of being closer to and better serving our customers.”

The company hopes to begin full-scale construction work on the facility in March, with completion expected in October. This will see it move from its current location in Kewanee, Ill. The new assembly space would allow Bomag to customize compaction and road building equipment with features designed specifically for the North American market.
