Baseplan Software announces 2025 software update release
The Baseplan Software Group has released its update for Baseplan Enterprise that delivers powerful enhancements across Transport, Service, Manufacturing, Finance modules, giving businesses the tools they need to operate more efficiently, reduce manual effort and deliver better outcomes for their customers.
The 2025 release focuses on three key areas: performance, efficiency, and flexibility. Technical improvements deliver faster system performance, helping users complete everyday tasks with greater speed and reliability. At the same time, new automation features simplify complex processes. For example, accounts payable invoices can now be processed automatically through AP Automation, while manufacturing service jobs can generate back-ordered parts issues without manual intervention. Together, these changes reduce administrative effort and minimize errors, freeing up teams to focus on higher-value work.
“Our goal has always been to give businesses the tools they need to operate with confidence and efficiency. With the 2025 release, we’ve focused on solving everyday pain points – from faster system performance to smarter automation in finance and logistics. This release allows our customers to spend less time on administration and more time growing their business,” says Chris McArthur, CEO of Baseplan Software Group.
Transport processing will be improved by a suite of major upgrades designed to improve visibility, control, and cost recovery. The system now supports multi-leg trips, giving operators the ability to plan and manage complex journeys across multiple destinations within a single docket. Additional transport charges have also been introduced, allowing users to capture additional costs such as fuel levies, permits, waiting times, or abandoned deliveries directly against a job.
These features simplify invoicing and reduce disputes by ensuring charges are documented at the source. Inter-company automation further strengthens efficiency by linking transport operations across business entities, automatically generating dockets and invoices between companies to reduce duplication and error. For example, a fleet manager coordinating deliveries across state lines can now capture every leg of the journey, every cost incurred, and ensure accurate, dispute-free billing without the manual reconciliation previously required.
Manufacturing operations also see significant improvements in this release. When parts are not in stock, the system now automatically generates backordered parts issues, preventing delays that previously required manual intervention. Timesheets for labor items are also created automatically, ensuring that workshop staff spend less time on paperwork and more time on productive work. These enhancements reduce bottlenecks, improve accuracy in job costing, and help service teams keep projects on schedule. A technician starting a job no longer needs to stop when stock is unavailable—the system handles the backorder instantly, allowing the job to progress smoothly and ensuring customers receive a faster turnaround.
For businesses operating across multiple regions, the 2025 release introduces expanded support for multi-currency asset transactions, eliminating the need for manual workarounds when purchasing or disposing of equipment internationally. This improvement, combined with new low-value pool asset depreciation for Australian tax compliance, strengthens financial management and ensures smoother reporting across borders.
Additional user experience improvements include enhanced checklist reporting, with photos and digital signatures now automatically included to provide clearer records for both customers and technicians. These features add accountability and transparency, while also streamlining workflows in the field.
Baseplan’s 2025 release demonstrates its ongoing commitment to continuous innovation and to delivering industry-specific solutions that address the real challenges faced by equipment rental and service companies.
