New Goliath 4X4 Rough Cut Mower

Seco Group’s Goliath 4X4 new rough cut mower, unveiled at last week’s The Rental Show, is built for tough terrain, high grass, brush and saplings up to 1.5-in. in diameter, the company announced.  It says the low-acquisition-cost rider is an alternative to walk-behinds and more expensive rough-cut options, offering traction and stability on grades up to 22 degrees.

The Goliath is a more comfortable and less fatiguing option than a walk-behind brush cutter, providing a new category of brush cutter between walk-behinds and a skid steer equipped with a tow-behind brush cutter. Rental centers can benefit from its lower cost, attractive rental rates, ease of transport, maneuverability and low impact on turf, the company says.

The company is looking to expand its market in rental centers who serve site-clearing, landscaping/hardscaping and related contractor or land owner/land management markets.

Engine choices are V-twin vertical crankshaft, pressure lube, gasoline engines – either a 23 hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard or 26 hp Kawasaki. The machine has a rear hydrostatic transaxle with 10 cc pump and 10 rev motor displacement, steerable front axle and on-demand four-wheel drive. The mower is belt-driven with a single Kevlar V-belt with idler arm tensioning.
