New Honda generator

Honda Power Equipment's new EU7000is portable generator adds greater power performance to its popular Super Quiet Series.

This new generator delivers fuel efficiency, clean power output, quiet operation and longer running times in a portable package.

Ideal for a host of commercial and residential applications, the Honda EU7000is is the company’s first application of electronic fuel injection to a generator, resulting in greater fuel efficiency, extremely easy starting without the need for a choke, and longer operating times than the model it replaces. Electronic fuel injection also allows for longer-term fuel storage than a carbureted model. What’s more, the all-new generator incorporates a convenient one-touch, push button electric start switch.

The EU7000is weighs 262 pounds, only two pounds heavier than the Honda EU6500is generator. The new model also is equipped with a new 5.1 gallon gas tank and can operate for six hours per tankful of gas at rated load or an estimated 18 hours at one-quarter load. This allows the generator to achieve a 25 percent increase in run time and a 20 percent increase in fuel economy over the EU6500is model. By utilizing a separate triple chamber construction comprised of an exhaust [muffler] chamber, an engine chamber, and an intake chamber and the Eco-ThrottleTM design, the EU7000is achieves a noise level of approximately 60 dB at rated load – resulting in super quiet operation.

The EU7000is offers a maximum 7000 VA of enhanced commercial grade electricity with a wave form distortion factor of less than 2.5 percent. This translates into a generous amount of usable power available for a wide range of commercial and residential applications.

In addition, the new EU7000is incorporates the Honda inverter technology, designed to power computers and sensitive electronic equipment that demand consistent electrical current with a stable sine wave or signal. A computer or equipment operating on fluctuating power could possibly freeze, shut down, or be interrupted. To overcome this problem, Honda engineers developed a form of inverter technology, which allows generators with this technology to provide cleaner current to power electronic equipment in remote locations. In addition, inverter technology substantially reduces weight and noise.

Maneuverability and ease of use are key for any portable generator, and the EU7000is is no exception. It includes a wheel kit with large semi-pneumatic tires and folding handles as standard equipment, making the generator exceptionally versatile and manageable for whatever power supply situation is at hand. Additionally, an iMonitor digital display provides helpful operational information such as hours of use, performance data, battery charging status and other on-board diagnostics.

The power behind the innovative EU7000is is the Honda fuel injected OHV GX390 engine. As is the case with all Honda engines, the GX390 provides low-emission, 4-cycle power to the unit.
