August employment situation
Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that payroll employment increased by 201,000 in August; unemployment rate unchanged at 3.9 percent.
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 201,000 in August, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.9 percent. Job gains occurred in professional and business services, health care, wholesale trade, transportation and warehousing, and mining.
