Changes coming to STAFDA Austin Convention and Trade Show

The Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) announces three significant changes at its Austin Convention & Trade Show, November 12 to 14, 2017.

What’s new:

  • On Sunday, November 12, following the morning’s educational workshops, a special luncheon will be held for STAFDA members 35 years old and younger. The Young Professionals Luncheon is designed to introduce like-minded millennials to each other. The luncheon will feature a speaker who will share tips on how to work with the older generation.
  • STAFDA will also introduce a Speed Interviewing session with upper classmen from Purdue University, Texas A&M and the University of Texas/Austin. Students with industrial distribution or construction management major will have their resumes posted in the members-only section of www.stafda.org for member review. The Speed Interviewing session is open to STAFDA distributors, manufacturers, and rep agents.
This offers the students the opportunity to meet with a variety of types and sizes of companies that serve countless industrial/construction markets. Several hires at STAFDA companies have come from interns-turned-employees, so even if a student doesn’t get a job offer, he or she could land an internship that could lead to a job after graduation. The students will also attend the Young Professionals Luncheon, Opening Party, General Session, and Trade Show.
  • As STAFDA’s Trade Show continues to grow, the footprint of some exhibitors has grown to epic proportions. STAFDA wants to unclog aisles and break up the inline look for a cleaner show. In order to do this, STAFDA will be offering 50-foot x 50-foot island booths that will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and strategically placed throughout the hall.

STAFDA’s 41st Annual Convention & Trade Show in Austin is for members only.
